Planning a bathroom

Bathroom in Chiswick

“The team at My Plumber were a pleasure to work with. Efficient, tidy, personable and reasonably priced. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.”

Our client was very specific about what she wanted in this bathroom and she was able to describe her ideas to our designer accurately. He worked closely with Miss Banks to ensure that he understood exactly what she wanted in terms of design, layout, and colours. Once we had the measurements of the bathroom and had translated Miss Bank’s ideas into the CAD, we were able to develop her ideas further to create the perfect bathroom for her.

The bathroom was a very small space so the feature is the shelving which has a baroque tile behind it to make it stand out from the rest of the black tiles. Miss Banks has some quirky items that she wanted to be able to display and the background tiles make the items really stand out. LED spot lights were included in the design to provide lighting. We are always careful to consider where shadows fall so we tend not put lighting directly over the basin as this is not such a flattering light. Lighting to the sides works much better.

The shelving unit was balanced by creating another cupboard to the side which is used to store towels and other items which Miss Banks did not want on display in her bathroom.
As the bathroom is quite compact, we chose a wall hung basin. This gives the impression of a lot more floor space which makes the bathroom appear larger than it really is.
